Racer - Free Car Simulation

Racer is a free cross-platform car simulation project (for non-commercial use), using professional car physics to achieve a realistic feeling and an excellent render engine for graphical realism. Cars, tracks and such can be created relatively easy (compared to other, more closed, driving simulations). The 3D, physics and other file formats are documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very customizable and expandable simulator. OpenGL is used for rendering.

When downloading addons, to extract…
Cars - Should be placed in Data/Cars in their own folder (eg “Ferrari_430″ folder name, then lots of files inside that folder). If they aren’t then you should create a folder for the car, than take all the files and put them in the folder.
Tracks - These are the same as cars, although they should be in Data/Tracks. Once again, in their own folders. If not, create a folder for the track, then extract the multiple files into that folder.
It’s very rare they are packed without a folder system installed. Just a note just incase anyone wonders why some stuff doesn’t work.
Because Racer is in ongoing development, some cars and tracks can become outdate and therefore not work with the latest version of Racer. There’s nothing I can do about this unfortunately, so we’ll just have to deal with it.
